Maine Wedding Venues for Horse Lovers

As a lifelong horseback rider, I am always excited to photograph weddings at venues with an equestrian touch. Anyone who has horses knows just how much our lives revolve around these animals, so it can be a meaningful choice to incorporate them in your wedding day. Whether it is including horses in your portraits, pieces of equine decor in your reception, or arriving to your ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage, there are many ways to involve equestrian elements during your celebration. If you are a fellow horse lover getting married in Maine, be sure to check out these great venues!

Beech Hill Barn
Pittston, ME

Beech Hill Barn is a beautiful wedding venue located in central Maine. The barn was originally built for horses and then was refurbished in 2015 to become what it is today! The owners, Priscilla and Jay, have two lovely horses on the property who frequently can be found grazing in the background during portraits.

River Winds Farm & Estate
Saco, ME

River Wind Farm & Estate sits just a short drive from Portland, giving you the opportunity to experience all that southern Maine has to offer. The property has a rustic 18th century post-and-beam wedding barn, formerly used to house horses. Next door is their working farm with a 9 stall barn, indoor arena and 160 acres of field and trails.

Tuckaway Tree Farm
Lebanon, ME

Tuckaway Tree Farm is a unique wedding venue set in the rolling hills along the Maine/New Hampshire boarder. Their 35 acre property is home to three donkeys, Dakota, Ellie Mae and Asstro. They are also a registered State of Maine tree farm!

Enchanted Gables
Oakland, ME

Located in Central Maine, Enchanted Gables hosts an 8,000 square foot barn and arena that is perfect for celebrations of all sizes. Along with weddings, it is also home to Medicine Bend Stables, a training and show facility!

Rockin’ Horse
Kennebunkport, ME

After 25 years providing horse-drawn carriage rides for weddings, Rockin’ Horse Stables has recently opened their doors as a venue! Their 1905 barn has been converted into a lovely event space with modern updates.
