Normal people celebrate their birthday by having a party with all their friends or going out for dinner and drinks. What do I do on my birthday? Drive 3 hours to Acadia National Park for a styled wedding photo shoot! Duh.

A few weeks ago I discovered this opportunity, planned by Emily of Elusive Photography. She graciously allowed myself and several other photographers to join her in Bar Harbor for a beautiful, bohemian-inspired styled elopement. Styled shoots allow wedding vendors to showcase their products or service in a curated way, without all the hustle of a wedding day!

Cold was an understatement. Jordan and Lindsey were the most amazing sports and looked beautiful without giving just how freezing they were. My birthday present to myself was a down winter jacket from LL Bean (because I’m a sucker for clearance items and can’t say no to a good deal) even when spring is right around the corner, but I was certainly very thankful for the purchase when the wind was whipping across Jordan Pond. I am looking forward to coming back to Acadia and Mount Desert Island on a much, much warmer day this summer and really getting to enjoy the scenery!
