On an unseasonably warm 75 degree day in late October, I got the honor of documenting Aaron and Juliette’s wedding in Bath, Maine. Their wedding day wasn’t just a celebration; it was a testament to the power of being present. The entire day was entirely unplugged, with guests being asked to keep their phones away and simply live in the moment with them for the afternoon.

Aaron and Juliette said their vows on the shore of the Kennebec River, overlooking downtown Bath from a private family property. There were so many thoughtful details sprinkled throughout the day, like antique store finds and dried flowers that Juliette curated together. Their spin on a guest book was a dictionary where guests could select a word for the couple and leave their message on the page. It was great to see all the little ways that they made the day truly “them”.

After the formalities, the day ended with Aaron being tossed in the nearby river. Throwing the groom in the water on his wedding day is a tradition in Juliette’s family! Be sure to scroll and see the photos – they are some of my favorites.
