You’ve spent months (or even years) planning your perfect wedding day. Now that the day has come and gone, the cakes has been eaten and the flowers have wilted, you are able to scroll through your online wedding gallery and relive all the wonderful moments. With that comes the importance of making sure those memories are protected. It can be easy to take technology for granted and forget that you will want to keep these photos easily accessible for many years to come. Here are a few of my favorite ways to back up your images and make sure that you will never lose your memories!
There are tons of options for cloud-based storage these days! A few examples include Dropbox, Google Drive and iCloud. Backing up your images to a cloud ensures that they are saved in a non-physical form that can’t be corrupted or destroyed. Plus, it makes your photos easy to share across devices.
Investing in a reliable external hard drive (or two!) is worth the cost. My favorite brand that I have used for years is Seagate. For even more protection, store a second hard drive in another location outside of your home (safe deposit box, a relative’s house, etc).
Keep a copy of your images on several different devices, if possible. An example is storing the file on your phone, laptop and iPad. Plus, have your partner keep multiple copies as well!
As much as I hate to say it, technology can fail. The tried and true way to store your memories is in print! Albums, canvases and prints are not only a great way to store your photos, but also give you tangible items to enjoy. Invest in a high quality wedding album to preserve your wedding day not only for yourself, but for your grandchildren to flip through one day!
