Kyle + Heidi | Fairytale Gardens Wedding

On the first Saturday in July, I headed to central Maine for Kyle and Heidi’s big day! It was the first super hot day of the year and the air conditioned bridal suite was the place to be as Heidi got ready. The room was filled with laughter the whole time I was there, and of course a few tears as Heidi put her dress on. All of us watched the weather radar like a hawk as storm clouds rolled in just before the ceremony. Thankfully, there was just enough time before the storm to keep it outside!

After their sweet ceremony, Kyle and Heidi shared a quiet moment on a trail behind the barn that I was so thankful to be able to capture. Just a few minutes afterwards, the sky opened up and it poured more than any of us had seen in a while! The party moved inside the barn and the rest of the evening was spent eating lots of good food and dancing.

Eventually the rain let up and at dusk we headed to Robins Hill, an overlook just a few minutes from the venue. The storm ended up giving us the most beautiful sunset. We had so much fun exploring the area and trying different things. Sneaking away from the reception for a bit and taking sunset portraits is one of my favorite parts of the day, and results in such great photos.

A big thank you to Kyle, Heidi and their families for having me there to capture their celebration! Keep scrolling to see some of my favorite photographs from the day.
